The Start-up Visa Program is an Investor Visa that allows you to come to Canada by founding a business in any province.
Do you want to make a financial investment in your future and relocate to Canada with your business?
You have several Entrepreneur and Investor Visa options available to you, including the general Start-up Visa Program.
In order to be successful with your application, you and your company must satisfy a series of standards. Generally, your company must be creative, generate jobs for Canadians, and compete on a global scale. In the mean time, you can apply for a temporary work visa to keep yourself occupied in Canada while waiting for your application approval.
When your business immigration application is approved, you and your family will be able to migrate to Canada together!
What is the minimum investment?
If the investment comes from a designated Canadian venture capital fund, you must secure a minimum investment of $200,000.
If the investment comes from a designated Canadian angel investor group, you must secure a minimum investment of $75,000.
You don’t need to secure financial investment from a business incubator. Acceptance into a Canadian business incubation programme is a must.

What happens if the business fails?
Because the Canadian government recognises that not all enterprises will succeed, the aim of this program is to spread risk across the public and private sectors. Also, it’s important to know that if your firm fails, it does not harm your permanent status in Canada.
