PGWP or Post Graduation Work Permit is a document that allows international students who have graduated from eligible Canadian designated learning institutions to work in Canada.
If you study in Canada, you may be eligible to apply to PGWPs after completing your studies. Once the document is approved, you can work for any employer in Canada without a limit of hours.
The Post-Graduation Work Permit Program will help you obtain valuable Canadian experience after completing your studies. You will have up to 180 days to apply for a PGWP when you get one of these options:
- Transcript
- Degree or Diploma
- Official letter from the College or University
If you do not have any of these before your study permit expires, you can leave Canada and apply from outside, or you can stay in Canada and apply for a visitor record.
It would be best to make sure that your passport will be valid for your PGDWP length. Post-Graduation Work Permits are generally valid between 8 months to 3 years. During this time, the experience that you obtain will be beneficial to apply to get the Permanent Residence.
